SMC is a company also known as Specialty Merchandise Corporation and there sister company is EMerchant Club. I have heard, but do not know it to be fact that you can get on the labbb.org website (Better Business Bureau) and find their alias for when they get a bad rating they just change there name. Also, they make over $300 million per year....so, as I said this is what I have heard.
My personal experience was one of lies, deceit, and unethical business practices. I personally went for the whole enchilada and was scammed by two of their employees. They have caller ID and they know it is you calling as well, so eventually if you do have a complaint because what they promised is not delivered they just won't answer the phone. If you leave a message or ask to speak to a supervisor, well good luck getting one to call you back.
I was sold on the idea of staying at home, having a website and working real hard on my business. Before my father passed away I did Mary Kay for years in another state and did quite well with a free car and over 55 personal recruits and 300 repeat customers. I drove a company car and was always winning prizes and aquolades. So, I new it would take work.
These people were good at being dishonest. They told me I would get this if I spent this. This only came part way the first time and the second time, which was so close together that I hadn't received the first part of the deal to know they were scamming me, never even came. I left messages and even spoke to one of them and they just keep telling me they are emailing a supervisor or its on its way. This started over a month ago and was on its way over two weeks ago...hmmm.... I think I was ripped off.
Basically, SMC employees told me I was purchasing one thing and actually sold me another over the phone, they also promised to fix that dishonesty which to date has not happened.
Please stay away from them and if you do get involved, dispute any charges on your credit card and cancel that account and have the company give you a new account number. Good Luck!
