I live in Perth, Western Australia and I saw an advertisement for Robert Allen's "Nothing Down" techniques. I ordered a few of his books over the internet. My credit card was charged as per usual and I received the books in the mail. As I read them I realised that most of his material was suited to the american real estate market and less suited to australians.
I wasn't too concerned about it until a couple of months later I realised they had charged me for the books four times!! What's more they were doing it once a month and showed no signs of stopping - probably hoping it would "slip under my radar" unnoticed. My bank couldn't cancel the direct debit as they did not set it up.
After 14 international calls to chase up a refund I still couldn't get thru to them and they were not returning my calls. I ended up having to cancel my credit card.
Moral of the story: If you know where Robert Allen lives, please burn his house down for me... |
