"Credit Card Fraud" is one of the most happening frauds in the world today. These are the frauds linked with credit cards, debit cards, charge cards etc.

Fraudsters use other's credit card information to make online purchases and sometimes they even use the stolen credit cards to make purchases.

Chargeback Fraud: In this kind of fraud the credit card details are used to make online purchases without the knowledge of the card holder. They somehow collect personal information required to make online transactions and use the card number to make online purchases.

Cyber-shoplifting or first-party fraud: This happens when the card holder purchase the products and services from e-merchant using credit card and after the goods are delivered, he revokes the order or initiate the charge back by giving a petty reason.

These cyber shop lifters will deny having received the goods or having authorized any such transaction and thus ending up in loss to e-merchant.

Skimming: This is a scam where employees of the merchant make a copy of the card details of the customer on the magnetic strip and sells it to fraudsters who in turn use these details to make duplicate cards.They skim the details of original card to make duplicate card.

One needs to be very careful in using credit card in retail shopping and also in online shopping. Never allow anybody to have access to your personal details.
