All it cost me was an SAE... |

I very rarely go for these scams where it involves sending money up front, however this one was quite easy, all it required was me to send an SAE to the company for envelope stuffing. I thought no problem 24p for a first class stamp and a spare envelope (this was years ago).
I sent the SAE off and received back a letter from the company explaining to me how the envelope stuffing job works. I advertise that I need people to stuff envelopes and that they send me an SAE. I open and collate the SAE's together and send them 100 at a time to this company. This company then sends out a letter to these people telling them to do the same. I get paid 1p per envelope I send. The other thing was this company also sold CD's and with the letter was an order form for their CD's. If any of my referrals bought a CD I'd get a commission from the sale of the CD, and this was on a chain scheme . I looked through the CD's and they were all really old CD's that were in HMV's bargain bins for about £5, but they were trying to fob them off at £14.99 a CD - so all they need to do is sell one CD and they'd easily make more money back than what they were paying out (if they even bothered to pay the money out). I considered that the company was just using it as a cheap way to get free advertising, and I would be paying for the advert! |
