"Medical billing" is a work from home business opportunity. It is a system in which you help a doctor or doctors to process their medical bills. Recently it has turned out to be just another business scam.

Companies offering medical billing will often ask for a subscription fee of $300 to $500. Once you become a member they will send you a billing processing software along with a list of doctors who are in recruiting for people to process their bills.

They assure you that this job can be done from home and you have the option to work full time or part time. They also claim that no experience is needed to perform this job. They use media as a form of advertising to attract people to subscribe for their program.

In reality doctors do not prefer to have outside agents to process their bills. They generally appoint their own people to take care of bill processing. If at all they outsource, they do it with established firm and not with individuals like you. Hence the opportunity is not as good as it is advertised by medical billing companies.

There are many occasions where a Medical Billing system will offer you an old list of doctors and the software they send you, by them, does not function properly. Although some of these companies claim that they have methods to give you your money back but it is difficult to process refunds.

Still if you would like to try your luck with this opportunity I suggest you do some research into rather or not the promoters of the company offering genuine medical billing systems. Speak with doctors in the area as well as other medical personal about the nature of the job. You can also ask for references of others who are already performing the job. Talk to them and make sure that you are going in right direction.
