A personal experience of Telemarketing Fraud |

I had just moved into a new apartment, and money was going to be getting tight over the semester. While I was unpacking, I got a phone call from a company offering me a $2000 limit credit card. I just had to put a deposit of $200 on it, which would be given back to me in the form of four $50 payment vouchers. Now, I was really excited about this because they said they reported to credit bureaus every month, so my bad credit could get better. When I finally got the card (which took four months,) it was a merchant card that I could use on some catalogs. And there was no way to get my $200 dollars back. I've since had other companies call offering similar things, but they won't even tell you they're merchant card companies if you ask them flat out. |
