ClickCartPro Shopping Cart SoftwareThe Kryptronic software company began in 1999 as a small Web development firm in Baltimore, Maryland (USA). It provided services to national and local clients, including full-site software and graphic development, Internet site hosting, and support. The initial development work done by the company included minor scripting and static HTML-based projects. Within four months, Kryptronic landed a contract to produce an e-commerce product. Spending too much time modifying and debugging free scripts, it decided to build an e-commerce solution from the ground up. Functionality and Features For a demo, you click on the ClickCartPro pulldown menu then select Online Demos. It’s a little puzzling at first, because the demo is actually a functioning example site where presumably you may buy new PC products and flat screen TVs with pseudo-dollars. Pricing for the ClickCartPro Full version 7—which appears to be a bundled set of CDs (and documentation?)—is currently discounted to $199. You have the option to request ClickCartPro professional help, which costs $49.95. A relatively current one (7/30/2009, Shopping Cart Reviews) indicates that most users have good experience. The table in that review provides a quick look at what ClickCartPro does not support: mainly, multiple languages and a wish list. One of the notes complains: “…the admin is confusing at first…. The manual is a waste of effort, it's written for programmers, not beginning small business owners. I was told once by a support tech at my server that CCP was one of the easiest carts to 'break into,' i.e. not secure. “I don't know if CCP has done anything about this since. The support is iffy. Sometimes you can get help on the forums, the owner of the cart, Nick is slow to respond because he's so busy. I quite like the cart and would probably go back to it if the support were better."
Though she’s fairly content with the exception of support. Support and Documentation Support comes in a range of plans, with different prices. Standard support hours apply. This reviewer saw nothing on the Website referencing product or system documentation. The note above suggests the documentation is geek driven. Conclusion Concerns do exist in security, support, and documentation.
